Melissa Snape Wisniewski

Founder + Editor

With 25+ years of experience, Melissa is a travel and wellness expert. At the forefront of the shift towards experiential travel, she is passionate about it's power to transform both the traveler and the communities visit. She is also a certified holistic health coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, frequent speaker at industry events, wellness travel guest for media companies such as CBS, and has sat on the boards and advisory committees of several travel organizations.

Frustrated by the often overly aspirational coverage of both wellness and travel, Melissa created She Travels Well. The She Travels Well team seeks to empower exploration, enrichment, and enthusiastic, vibrant living through travel for women of all ages.  She hopes to make travel joyful by informing, supporting, and inspiring personal discoveries and shared transformational experiences in an inclusive and welcoming community.

When not designing trips, blogging about travel with her team, or exploring the backroads of New England, she will likely be found at her home in a small town outside of Boston with her husband, son, daughter and their two dogs—all of whom also travel well.

Katie Ahearn, Contributor

Katie is a cheap travel aficionado, foodie, adventure lover and world nomad.  Recently returned from working on a women’s rights project in Bolivia, she has lived in Italy for a year, and, having already been to Morocco, France, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Mexico, we are never quite sure where she will head next. She Travels Well’s marketing coordinator and expert on all things vegan, you can usually find her trying out new recipes or sampling the many restaurants in Boston from Afghan to Thai. When she is not working for us or one of the non-profits she loves, you will find her reading, hiking, mountain biking or planning her next adventure.
