Women Making History | AdventureWomen

Between busy work schedules and constant wanderlust-inducing photos in our Instagram feed, the need for a far-flung getaway can feel all too urgent sometimes. The actual planning of said getaway? Not so much.

That’s where AdventureWomen comes in. A true pioneer of women only adventure travel, AdventureWomen was founded by Susan Eckert after serving in the Peace Corps. In 2016 it was acquired by the long time industry veterans and dynamic mother-daughter team of Judi Wineland, President of Wineland-Thomson Adventures and her two daughters, Nicole Wineland-Thomson and Erica Landerson who have expanded the company’s already extensive offerings. AdventureWomen connects women to life-changing adventures around the world by curating itineraries, booking knowledgeable guides, and sourcing global meals. From Tanzanian safaris to bear-watching in Alaska, they take the stress out of organizing a once-in-a-lifetime escape.

Always women-owned and women-run, AdventureWomen is a uniquely female-focused company. They invite women to physically and mentally challenge themselves with more than 42 departures worldwide to more than 65 countries around the world. One-of-a-kind, insider trips connect female travelers and help them learn more about themselves and the world around them. AdventureWomen discover new things, test their comfort zones, expand perspectives, and support one another. We say it’s time to finally book that vacation.
