5 Reasons Why You Should Travel Solo

5 reasons going solo is the best way to travel

While traveling with friends and family can be fun, sometimes solo travel is the way to go. Traveling alone lets you plan your trip your way, and when you are going someplace really special — like that bucket list destination you have always dreamed about — isn’t that really the way to go?  Read on for some of the reasons we think going solo as a woman is the best way to travel!

Why You Should Travel Solo

1. It pushes you out of your comfort zone

In moments of stress while traveling, like missing a flight or getting lost in a new place, it is easy to depend on a friend for help; but being by yourself forces you to take control and figure it out. It may seem scary, but moments like these will empower you and remind you that you can handle anything yourself!

2. It’s a chance for self discovery

Solo travel can be a chance to figure out what it is that you want in life. When traveling alone, you have the opportunity to experience new cultures, experiences, people, foods and places without anyone else watching. In the process of learning about all these new things, you usually learn a lot about yourself as well.

3. The sense of freedom

Quite simply when you are by yourself, you only have to think about yourself. That’s why traveling solo can be so liberating. Eat what you want, wake up when you want, go where you want. It is so rare that you have a chance to truly tune into yourself and your own unique rhythms. Savor every minute.

4. It’s a chance to meet new people

While traveling solo, you will be much more likely to talk to new people and put yourself out there in a way you wouldn’t necessarily do if you were traveling with someone else.  This not only helps you dive deeper into the culture by spending time with local citizens or fellow travelers with different points of view, it also gives you the chance to make lifelong friends.

5. It’s a huge confidence booster

Whether your solo travels require you to navigate a new city or communicate in a foreign tongue, you will do a lot that takes courage. Successfully accomplishing such things will make you feel more confident in everyday pursuits, especially when you return home.

We hope this helps all you burgeoning solo travelers tackle the question of why you should consider traveling alone.
